Motorists who submitted photo identification to support their applications, such as passports, have been forced to put their lives on hold. People have taken to social media about the long wait with some said they have been waiting months. These extensions are now starting to expire, adding to the workloads of DVLA staff handling 2021 renewals. North Wales Live reports that further backlogs are due to a series of short strikes over coronavirus safety measures at its Swansea offices.
